'Heardle' is 'Wordle' but make it music

Thought you were done reading about new Wordle variants?

Nope!

Although many of the word-based options may now have been exhausted — we've had the nightmarish Absurdle, the crude Lewdle, the geography-based Worldle and Globle, and the Taylor Swift-themed Taylordle, to name just a few — it seems there's plenty more cross-genre territory still to be explored.

The latest addition? A music-based guessing game called Heardle from digital production studio Omaske, which invites players to guess the track — from a pool of the most streamed songs in the last 10 years — using only brief snippets from the intro.

As you can probably imagine, it's not as easy as it sounds. Expect many rage-inducing, tip-of-the-tongue moments where you know you know the song being played, but can't for the life of you remember what it's actually called or who sings it.

Still, it wouldn't be a Wordle variant if it wasn't at least a little bit infuriating, right?
