New Twitter feature lets you watch Tesla stock crater

It works for other stocks, too.

If you need more ways to see stocks and cryptocurrencies plummet on a daily basis, Twitter's got you covered.

The company recently partnered with trading analysis platform TradingView to display price charts in search results for cryptocurrencies, stocks, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The feature works best if you use $cashtags, which are similar to hashtags, only instead of the "#" symbol in front of a keyword, you use the "$" symbol in front of a ticker.

However, we tried it out and it works for regular searches as well, at least for popular cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. For stocks and ETFs, you'll get better results with cashtags.

Oddly, the image showing the price chart isn't clickable at all, so there's no direct way to see the price chart in TradingView. Below, however, you will find a link that takes you to Robinhood.

Also, when you tweet a cashtag, it will become a clickable link that will lead users to the search results for that stock, cryptocurrency, or ETF.

Granted, the integration leaves a lot to be desired. For example, if you're viewing twitter in dark mode, the price chart will still be white, and it looks pretty bad. Perhaps it has something to do with Musk recently firing most of Twitter's employees.

Twitter says it will refine the user experience and expand the coverage of symbols "in the coming weeks."
