"After all this time, what do you need to help you feel whole again?"

That's the question posed in Shudder's trailer for writer/director Alison Locke's thriller The Apology, a movie about a mother (Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn) who's prompted to revisit the disappearance of her daughter 20 years earlier after a surprise visit from her estranged former brother-in-law (Linus Roache).

The story looks dark, with a tiny cast and plenty of tension simmering away below the surface.

The Apology is coming to theatres and Shudder on Dec. 16.
